How To Apply The Correct Format While Writing A Qualitative Research Paper

Research is serious business and anyone venturing down this path should treat it as such. When conducting any form academic study, it is important to understand what your goal and present task entails. By understanding exactly what you’re up against, you are able to approach the task in a more efficient manner.

Qualitative research requires investigations into underlying reasons and methods responsible for a particular phenomena. It involves close study of small systems, in order to develop opinions or hypotheses about the phenomena. This type of investigation helps to identify aspects of a particular item that can then be tested objectively. The following is a list of tips to help you apply the correct format when writing a qualitative research paper:

  1. Title page
  2. The name says it all, the title page is the first page in most research projects. It contains basic information about the author, the title of the paper and anyone involved in the process.

  3. Abstract page
  4. This page is necessary in most format types and serves to prime the readers before the delve into the main body of your paper. It consist of a simple outline of the entire project, with only enough information to give readers a basic understanding of your purpose and the methodologies employed.

  5. Table of contents
  6. A list of all the sub sections of your paper, for easy reference. A proper table of contents also requires each section of a paper titled and each page to be numbered.

  7. Introduction
  8. A brief description of the main contents of the study, this section is similar to the abstract except it only deal with issues directly related to the topic of study.

  9. Method
  10. One cannot simply compile data and present a case, they must be able to show how and why they were able to acquire this data. Only by employing accepted methods of investigation can a paper be accepted into our body of knowledge.

  11. Data
  12. One of the most important elements of any academic paper, you must collect and store your data effectively. Poor manipulation of data can lead to failure and it is recommended to have a friend or peer assist you.

  13. Conclusion
  14. Your final statement must be one that puts the final closing on your paper. The final statement must be compelling, brief and full supported by the data you have included in your paper. If done well, your paper can be impacting and interesting to read.
